Rubén Luengas is a Mexican journalist with an international career in radio and TV, winner of the Emmy and Mark Twain awards in the United States, among others. In May 2008, the prestigious newspaper The Washington Post recognized the quality of his journalistic work in the newscast “En Contexto”, for which, also in Mexico, he received on two consecutive occasions the National Journalism Award granted annually by the National Journalists Club. A frequent guest at different universities in Southern California such as UCLA and Cal State Northridge, Rubén Luengas presents a fierce defense of journalism that contradicts, in his own words, the adulterated way in which the profession is practiced in some academic centers and in many media outlets.
